Every once in a while, some freelance work comes along that makes the reality of having somewhere between three or four jobs absolutely, entirely worthwhile (like seeing Paul McCartney up close, experiencing Farm Aid, or finding delicious KCK street tacos...). Spending an entire afternoon at one of my favorite spots in Kansas City, Boulevard Brewery, was another one of those to add to that list. Feast Magazine recently sponsored a reader contest for which the winners would receive some sweet personal attention from some Boulevard VIPs, including brewmaster Steven Pauwels, brand ambassador Jeremy Danner and creative director Brent Anderson. I was lucky enough to be able to tag along to take some photos and later write a few words about the experience.
There was, of course, beer to drink, a little bit of food to eat and lots to learn about Boulevard's huge year ahead and it's impending release of TWELVE new beers, including two distinct Love Childs (a sour beer that is among my favorites from Boulevard). The rest of the details (and many more photos) are saved for the Feast piece. I'll post a link to that once it is available. Thank you again to the people at Boulevard and Feast who put this together!
In the gallery below are some of Boulevard's finest ambassadors (Left to Right, then Top to Bottom): Steven Pauwels (brewmaster), Brent Anderson (creative director) with the contest winners, Pauwels with Jeremy Danner (brand ambassador), Keith Kennedy (guest relations), Pauwels and Dane Mehringer (guest relations).
